Mesotherapy is a technique that hydrates the deeper layers of the skin thanks to a cocktail of poly-vitamins and free hyaluronic acid. Indeed, moisturizing creams do not cross the skin barrier of the stratum corneum, which is made up of dead cells, so the hydration needs to be taken to the heart of the living cells in the deeper layers of the skin.
What does this treatment involve?
The treatment can be carried out using a “Dermapen” or a regular needle.
Dermapen comprises around ten needles that pierce the skin very rapidly at a chosen speed and depth. This microneedling technique is combined with the application of a hydrating serum containing a mixture of vitamins and free hyaluronic acid that penetrates the microscopic holes created by the microneedling. The Dermapen mechanically stimulates the production of collagen and thus firms and hydrates the skin at the same time.
Firmed and hydrated, the skin is more beautiful and much more radiant.
After mesotherapy
There is no social downtime in the days following the treatment with Dermapen but redness can last for a few hours after the treatment and will disappear the following day. The treatment is not painful and can be repeated any time you feel the need. Some patients sometimes undergo treatment once a month for maximal skin hydration and revitalization throughout the year.
When the treatment is carried out with a regular needle, the deeper layers of the skin are hydrated but when using a long needle there is a risk of bruising linked to pricking a blood vessel, as well as greater pain. In reality, the two types of mesotherapy (deep with a needle and superficial with microneedling) can be combined for an optimal result.
